From the moment that she says "Yes I will", is the time when every bride starts to live her dreams of a story book wedding – Now is the time to start collecting and saving all things inspirational for the big day.
A simple scrap book to cut and paste clippings from bridal magazine, materials and fabrics, and look on-line on wedding related sites for photos of other real life weddings is a great way to picture how your wedding may be, in fact. Anything that inspires you even music and smells will give you an idea of the type of themes and other specifications this will help your wedding co-ordinator in the task of creating your dream wedding.
Another reason for your wedding collections is to keep the rest of the wedding party involved in the planning process by having them send you information etc.
Start by interviewing a number of wedding planners/co-ordinators, we would recommend interviewing three to four wedding co-ordinators. This is not an easy process, off course they will have a website, previous material and customer referrals for you to look at, but the most important thing is that you get on well with them, as you will be spending a great deal of time working together.
Talk about how you see your wedding day. To make it easier it is advisable to have written out how you see your wedding day from the time you wake up, i.e., where you will be on your wedding morning, the special touches right up to when you bid farewell to your guest and leave for your honeymoon. As much detail as possible will make the wedding planners task a lot smoother and less chance for deviation.
Your wedding scrapbook will grow and develop as you find inspiration from photos and ideas from wedding magazines and wedding photography sites such. Some sites will be just what you require, while some site will make you click the back button real quick. You will be inspired by some of the photos and ideas you will find but with so much now online you will soon become confused, so keep it simple and try not to view to many at any one time.
Keep a notebook to record websites that inspires both you and your groom. You will find that your original idea will grow and bloom as you make new discoveries so continue to update your story book album.
The most important advice on hiring the right wedding planner that's right for you is to follow up on referrals and references, talk to at least three previous clients and wedding venues to ascertain how their wedding went. Try to get references from other Brides and Grooms that had weddings similar to the one that you are planning. For example, if you are planning for a lavish 5 star wedding style, you may not want to consider a small town wedding planner that has only arranged a small less glitzy events and ceremonies and vice versa.
QUESTIONS FOR YOUR WEDDING COORDINATOR
