Vendor Tradeshow Tips
Wedding events are hard work
and require extensive planning. Use our time-tested tips below to ensure
a successful exhibit and a good return on your investment.
-
Secure your staff, develop
your booth design, establish a budget, and account for literature
costs
-
Plan to bring: signs, banners,
hooks, merchandise, samples, portfolios, literature, business cards,
pens and pencils, an appointment book, a stapler, tape and duct
tape, pins, paper clips, scissors, and extension cords
-
Rent or purchase banner stands
if you don't have them
-
Develop a strong sales
technique to qualify the bride.
-
Set your event goals and
objectives
Promote your participation by
adding an invitation message to your voice mail; creating an advertising
tag line; or including event information on your web site or
correspondence
-
Increase your visibility by
arriving early for last minute booth preparation. Do not leave
before the end of the event.
-
Create an attractive and
appealing booth. Signs should clearly identify your company,
products and services.
-
Dress appropriately and
display good hygiene. Do not sit or eat at your booth and do not
engage in unnecessary conversation with your sales staff.
-
Be assertive, outgoing and
positive to build rapport with the bride
-
Use literature to enhance your
product or service offerings, but make a verbal connection with the
bride. Literature can be expensive and often doesn't leave the event
location.
-
Promote your products and
services in our fashion previews, i.e. flowers, makeup, hair, etc.
-
Sponsor an event promotion,
door prize or grand prize for extra exposure.
-
Promotions are offered to
every bride-to-be in attendance and include discounts, coupons, gift
certificates, or prizes. Expiration dates are helpful to increase
sales.
-
Door prizes are offered to one
bride-to-be in attendance.
-
Grand prizes are offered to
one engaged couple in attendance and are valued at $50,0000 or more.
Prizes may be promoted in show advertising, or as an on-stage
give-away.
