The deadline
for 2007 Vancouver Bride photo
submissions is June 21, 2007.
Submission Opportunities
We're looking for fabulous photos in
the Vancouver area in 2006. Please keep
warm, happy, loving, celebratory images
in mind when selecting your favorite
pictures, and try to submit photos that
truly reflect a wedding in Vancouver and
the Lower Mainland. Beautiful local
destination weddings also will be
considered.
Listed below are examples of
opportunities for photo submissions:
1. Anyone wishing to submit
photos for consideration should send a
small sampling of pictures per wedding,
along with a short-nothing
fancy-description about the wedding: why
it was so special and why it would make
a great story. Photos should
illustrate-in a documentary,
photo-journalism style-all the elements
of the event. Include detail shots of
favors, place-settings, the guest book,
the general environment, etc., as well
as touching photojournalistic moments
and portraits of the couple and guests.
Please submit
20-25 photojournalistic-style images
that capture all aspects of the wedding,
from the ceremony to the reception, and
details such as favors, table settings,
etc.
2. These are short blurbs accompanied
by one photo of recently wed couples
from the Vancouver and Lower Mainland
area, who have a great story about their
engagement, courtship, wedding,
reception or honeymoon. Please include
contact names and numbers of your
couples and a brief description about
why we should write about them. Please
submit up to 3 shots, of the couple
only, per wedding.
3. We are always looking to use
photos to illustrate other topics in the
magazine. All imagery submitted will be
considered for use throughout the
magazine if subject matter / quality of
work permits. You and the couple ( if
applicable ) will be credited. Examples
of imagery to remember: kids, animals,
funny moments, landscapes, etc.
How To Submit Photos
Photography submissions are due April
21, 2007. We require hard copies of
photos-prints, photocopies, lasers are
fine.

You may also send work on CD (CD's must
be accompanied by hardcopy printouts),
but not floppy disk. Note: We do not
accept submissions via email.
Remember, all
photos submitted will be considered for
publication. If your wedding does not
make the cut, your photographs may be
used elsewhere.
If you are an
advertiser, please do not send the
images that appear in your ad! We will
not use them if they appear in your ad.

Credits
Please realize
that we do not remit payment for photos;
however, the photos are credited to you,
resulting in free publicity-and will
garner you a free listing in our
resources guide (normally valued at $150
CAD). So that your photos may be
credited properly, please supply us with
the full name of your company (your
address, phone number and websites will
not be credited in the photo well but
will be listed in the resources guide).

Returns
If you would
like photos returned, please send a note
saying so. We cannot return work until
after the magazine has shipped to the
printer at the end of May.
